FAQ

What if my Family Doctor has not signed up with SkriptMD?

You can link with another doctor of your choice temporarily until your Family Doctor joins the App.

Is there a fee to use SkriptMD?

There is no fee to open an account followed by a 30 day free trial period. After 30 days, there is a small $10 annual subscription fee. This subscription fee can be easily cancelled by the patient on their profile.

The fee for an eConsult is $10 with a valid OHIP card. This eConsult fee includes any prescription that is required to treat the issue.

Prescriptions alone cost $7 for the first medication, $3 for the second medication and $1 for each medication thereafter. For example, 4 medications on a single prescription will cost $12.

What if my Pharmacy is not listed on the SkriptMD App?

You can add any pharmacy in Canada to the pharmacy list as long as you provide a valid fax number.

You can Find a Pharmacy with their Fax number on the College of Pharmacists website of their respective Province.

For example, in Ontario you would visit: www.ocpinfo.com

Does the doctor get paid for providing this service on SkriptMD?

Yes. Your doctor will bill your Health Card Number for eConsults. Most of the fees collected for Prescription Renewals alone also go to your doctor.

Do I need a Provincial Health Insurance card such as OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) to use SkriptMD?

Yes, to request an eConsult.

No, if you are requesting a Prescription renewal alone. However, you will still need to supply your health insurance number or DLN (Driver’s License Number) if you are requesting Controlled Substances such as Narcotics or Tranquilizers in which case it is needed for identification purposes.

Can I switch to a new doctor in SkriptMD?

Yes. You can request to switch anytime but the new doctor must also agree to accept you as their patient.

Is there an Age limit to use SkriptMD?

No, but parents should oversee usage by minors under 16 years old.

How do I know the name of my medication and the original prescribing doctor?

The medication can be copied directly from the pharmacy label that is on the bottle or packaging. The prescribing doctor's name is also on the same pharmacy label. Otherwise, you could speak to your pharmacist.
